belly of a nautical almanac

As from 18.12.2006 onwards:

Sorry folks, I've disabled the links on this page. Hosting mp3's on a regular website costs too much bandwidth, but no despair: there're plenty of mp3's available for your download- and listeningpleasure at myspace.com/mangenerated (rotated on an irregular base), and on mangenerated.podomatic.com.

mp3 stuff for fucked up tastes on a tight budget

Live in de Living 19 (31.10.2005)
Thibault Delferriere
Extremely small mpg-movie of Thibault's performance in de living.

Ni Musique Muzik Fest No! Festival (01.10.2005)
Hellfiller (wmv-movie)
Dirk Freenoise (wmv-movie)
Odal (wmv-movie)
Norma X'd Out (pt 1, wmv-movie)
Norma X'd Out (pt 2, wmv-movie)
Diskoster (wmv-movie)
JMH Berckmans ("OCMW", wmv-movie)
JMH Berckmans ("Café zonder bier"/"Pub without beer", wmv-movie)
Lawrence Wasser (wmv-movie)
Several +/- 1 minute movies shot at the nimuzik fest (click to see the full line-up): Hellfiller playing a soccermatch, Dirk Freenoise "Noise in a Postzak" Superstar, Odal breaking sound barriers in his bare skin. See Norma X'd Out Chainsaw Set and Diskosters in the mist. There was a hell more going on that day, so stay tuned for more soundbits, more pictures - more more more!

Live in de living 16 (15.08.2005)
1.30 minute mixup (crappy but small wmv-movie, sound is good)
In order of appearance: League of mentalmen (with diskoster on vocals), Gerre and the Murderdonkeys, Butcherboogie. Real music in de living! (Real sloppy filming too, you hardly see a thing)

Live in de living 15 (08.08.2005)
LSD Mossel (movie +/- 1.38 minutes)
Great guys. "A rastaman with an overdose of good humour and a fat one that only talks when he's drinking." (quote unquote Lieven, ceo of imvated inc on the wrost newsgroup).
Sudden Infant (movie +/- 0.30 minutes or 0.50 or so) (official website)
Me: "Hey, tell me about that Jacques Brel-cover on the Manufracture sampler." [What follows is a long conversation with Joke on Jacques Brel, his lyrics and performances] Didn't seem to share my (moderate) passion for Dalida though.
Tuto Fuzzi (+/- 4 minute sound sample)
"i just tried to "rescue" the crappy recording from Tienen, just put full distortion on everything, so you cannot hear the clippings that much... Still crappy but enough to get an impression. good night" (Pit from Tuto Fuzzi)

Vage Dagen (07.08.2005)
Permanent Death vs LSD Mossel (movie)
Hellfiller vs Tantrum Thorazin (movie)
At the squatt in Ghent: 10 bands get in the ring for 5 collab-sets. Norma X'd Out vs Locklust, Permanent Death vs LSD Mossel, Hellfiller vs Tantrum Thorazin, Electric Sonatas vs Saturn Dream, Zamia vs Virus Cut Jam. Cool place, had never been in that part of the squatt before. More stuff online soon of the cool exhibition that was going on, but I was running out of film after the shooting spree the nite before.

Death Petrol 2005 (06.08.2005)
Fökking Odal (movie +/- 2.16 minutes)
Dirk Freenoise (movie)
Happy gathering of 57+ noisebands - see www.deathpetrol.tk for the complete list. As for what's behind the links above: first one is Fökking Odal (Holland) going nakid and Robin (Belgium) going bangbang (tip: google for Peter Zinckens' great Stront-label, Fckn Bstrds, Hondenkoekjesfabriek). Next film Dirk Freenoise (Belgian pride) standing firm. More stuff soon online (Something went wrong in my head and I shot close to 4 films of T-Max that night.)
If you like the above be sure to check Scorpio Scorpio's page here, you'll find more clips on his page, including one of my own performance on Death Petrol (look for the line in which he calls me a local fixture in the Belgian noise scene, whatever he means with that).

Live in de living 14 (30.05.2005) - soon available as a CDr-release on RRs.R
Scorpio Scorpio (+/- 30 seconds)
Orphan Fairytale (+/- 30 seconds)
Monopolka (+/- 30 seconds)
Evil Moisture(+/- 30 seconds)
Simply one of the best editions in de living-series so far. Or maybe it's me.

Daniele Brusaschetto and Ashtool Live in Ghent (16.05.2005)
Ashtool (official website)
Daniele Brusaschetto (and a bunch of local punx) (official website)
Daniele Brusaschetto and Ashtool played in de living the night before but due to some technical difficulties (beer in the 4-track-recorder) no recordings were made that evening. The recordings above are made with a sloppy sony walkman recorder in the squatt in Ghent where they played with Vialka and Raxinaxsky. Especially the Daniele Brusaschetto-track is an emotional, moving document of the evening.

Live in de Grimas 2 (02.05.2005)
Tourette
Magik Markers (official website)
Nautical Almanac (official website)
Originally planned in de living, but for practical reasons moved to a bigger place. Elisa from The Magik Markers banged her head against the bassguitar (or the other way round), turned metal, spilled blood all over the place and a few days later the world learned of the existence of a place called Tienen through the site of Ecstatic Peace where some gruesome digital pics were published. The first 25 people that came to Live in de living 13 received a limited tape-edition of the full set of the Magik Markers (check this site if yer interested in an original copy) - Benny of Ekzeema made recordings of the show as well and released it on CDr.

Live in the Living 6 (14.06.2004)
Crank Sturgeon and Gaylord

Live in the Living 3 (20.03.2004)
Justice Yeldham and the Magic Ribbon Device (complete set!) (official website and CD-duplication at cheapo prices)
Evil Moisture (small selection - need some serious mixing)
Dirk Freenoise (official website and cool label)
Two international renown noisebands and one of the best Belgian noisebands in one livingroom! What can go wrong? Arrgh. No audience. Too bad for those that missed the show, it was one of the loudest so far in de living.

Live in de Kloemp (06.04.2003)
Crank Sturgeon
Permanent Death (Permanent Death released a DVD that features this show)
Die Tote Stadt

Live in het Paenhuys (02.03.2003)
Moysk (check the cool veglia-label for info and other shit)

Live in de Vortex (03.01.2002)
Hermit

The soundtrack of yer Suicide fest pt 3 - Magasin 4, Brussels (13.10.2000)
Shikara - Praying for Oblivion - Mr. Natural
Scott of Shikara explains why we're doing what we're doing
Taken from a videorecording as is, the recordings made from the PA were useless as the sound was being done by the guy that usually does the lights. As a consequence you hear sounds dropping, reappearing, panning and doing things you would only expect from a light-show. After the show the guy called the evening "a great experience", but I can't say the same of the sound we were getting that evening at the Magasin 4. Yet it can be so easy: in case of doubt just turn all the knobs to the right and get yourself a beer at the bar. Relax. Everything will be fine.

ManGenerated
Track for Stereophonic Compilation (this track appeared on a compilation made by the now closed Stereophonic Record Shop in Antwerp)
diebleurghwaah (one of the recordings that were used in the Stereophonic-track)
walkmanrecordeddeadtrashcasioshit (the best recordings are those close to the end of the tape)
Missed split with Agathocles (these recordings were made for a planned 7"-split with Agathocles that somehow didn't quite happen, probably because we were a bit sloppy in our communication - these recordings might or might not be on a recently released 4-way-split with 3 other slashbands, but due to sloppy communication I'm not quite sure about that.)
Note: ManGenerated has split up for eternity (due to the sloppy way the bandmembers were misdealing each other), so the above are old recordings, there's no new material in the making.

Norma X'd Out
Live at the Student, Schaerbeeck, 05.07.2004
Live at de living, Tienen, 15.05.2005 (video)

Various
jamsession at party chez Tischkje and Ann (In my frantic attic I would care less who plays what and who would ever care?)

Film (for those that like moving pictures)
Traffic and Architecture I (17 seconds, super 8, filmed in Croatia)
While Still Walking Lenin (1 minute, super 8, filmed in Petrozavodsk, Russia)
