You know the song “Kerosene” by Big Black? Well, that song is about Tienen. Tienen is the place we come from, or hang out during the weekend.
People organise noise-gigs here to keep their sanity. Tienen is perfectly “accessible by train” (has one of the oldest train stations in Belgium btw), so no excuse for not showing up next time something is happening.

“Live in De Living” – was a series of gigs organised by Oli Diskoster (mail: olidiskoster att hotmail dott com) in the livingroom of his appartment above Café De Aflaat in Tienen from 2003 till 2007. For 4 years a happy bunch of people, mostly friendly locals, enjoyed fine evenings of experimental music, occasionaly ruining their ears by doing so – entrance fee was low (7 Euro), especially since it was a drink-till-you-drop-formula. Mjam Mjam was available at a cheap prices (2 Euro).

The first big noise festival we organised. We kept getting mails from bands that were on tour and wanted to join in, so we just put them all on the list, which resulted in some 25 names. Fortunately enough not all the acts showed up, even with the reduced amount of bands the festival lasted till 06:00, with bands playing on 2 stages. It was big fun.

This edition was a bit of a set-back when compared to the amount of people that showed up on pt.2 of the festival. The Magasin 4 is a wonderful place to play and organise concerts, but the place is just too big and financially not very interesting when only 30 people show up at your gig.
