Reverse Mouth/Blastocyst – Split – LP

Phase Records‘ [website] very first vinyl-release (co-released with HRR [website] on 100 copies) features the label’s homeband Reverse Mouth [mySpace] on one side, and the band they recently did a mini-tour with (during which they also did De Living) – Blastocyst – on the other side. The Reverse Mouth side is 45 rpm (containing one track worth 17 minutes of sound), the Blastocyst side needs to spin at 33 rpm (which I discovered in the 4th or so minute). Unlike “The Bible Eater” tape reviewed in these pages a couple days earlier [here] The Reverse Mouth-side is a pretty calm sofa-track sporting dissonant guitar-resonances and a distant voice, contrasting the Blastocyst-side which sports 4 heavy filled-up jam-outs totally in line with what they do live: distorted drumming, crushed guitars and nervous synthtronics. 100 copies, get yours from one of the two labels.
