This monday, the 25th, Live in de Living 28 came over a happy bunch of local and not so local people that showed up to see the fine acts brought to them by the Behringer Boys Band (Holland), Kunt (Australia/Germany/Japan) and V/Vm (uk). A newbeat/acid afterparty was scheduled with DJ Lamzak and DJ Nibor. For this edition the attendance was rather high, by moments resulting in a hot and crowded atmosphere – Jelle Crama (DJ Lamzak) posted the following review to the wrost-newsgroup, originally written in Dutch, but I’ve been so kind to flush it through an online text translator which gave life to this fine piece of literature: “njam, just my tshirt in an emmerke want to have must do am been was many people water weeks, kzal the same once with my pant and shoes. I yesterday to the tomatoes party. that, formed three men of that people a rotslechte tie, but it were nice lazy walked did. there also 2 seemingly hot chicks around that after single pins a little less bashfully a fierce kippenoise act, what that then also Mean. 2 half nude machos in the seed, wholly done. only also yet enough pins in the frigo and one in the hand of klamzak well calm seated in the kitchen. Then a blije boy came with lapterop and yet a chicken, once again a violent, an in own liquid, red and bare remain slide to see as a boob in the maandstondenpit! everybody greasily, well. Puike achterafacid, acid, acid, acid, ACID! Beloved, I have the requested with nibor and he said is “yes” thus that already in the zakos!”
I can only agree with the above – As I myself was in a bit of a darkclouded mood I spent a good deal of the evening walking from one room to another, and sitting in front of the TV, where I subsequently watched a documentary I’ve already seen three times on W.A.S.P (stays good, even after a third time) and a couple of episodes of Darkplace – The Helios Creed/Chrome DVD proved too difficult to navigate – Those moments aren’t lost though, as Darkplace was a real eye-opener to me. I’ll nevertheless jot down a couple of lines to complement Jelles’ review: The Behringer Boysband from Holland usually plays as the Feedback Society, this being the first show they did under said name. Thumbs up for the bands’ name, as they indeed had a couple of Behringer-stuff with them – The 3 guys actually had lots of stuff with them, including 2 laptops, a sampler bank, a couple of toysynths, minidisks and such. Their music as such was mostly sample-loop-oriented (some samples being rather obvious and clearly intended so), by moments quite hefty and noisy, but at other times more beat-oriented. It somehow reminded me of the Zyrtax/Contagious Orgasm-set of a couple of months ago, though there are more differences than similarities, so this is just me. This is the second time Kunt is playing in De Living and the locals were so keen seeing them again that the Living was so packed with people that there wasn’t room for late-comers, so I watched the show at a distance. Their set was quite hefty ‘n sweaty, screams, beats ‘n moves, and the obligatory grind’n sparkle-act by Lulu to top things off. Second time in De Living, and all in I think I’ve seen the girls live 3 times now – Am I mistaking, or is their music and act in the course of time shifting more and more into a Scorpio Scorpio-direction? Macho-moves, music that’s utterly ironic – Even thought to recognise a Scorpio Scorpio-song, a cover? V/Vm was next – his set started in a calm way, with a soundmix-version of a George Michael/Elton John-duet, V/Vm wearing an Elton John-mask, his friend (introduced as being George Michael not allowed to show of his face because of restrictions put on him by his record-label) wearing a chicken-mask. Things grew heavier and heavier as the set progressed – with V/Vm making wild headrolls through the living, his friend stripping and rolling over the floor, finally opening a 5 liter can of mashed tomatoes (cutting himself in the hand while doing so – a trail of blood led to the bathroom) throwing mashed tomatoes all over the floor and the audience, smearing his body with ketchup and getting a good deal of beer over him from the audience. Messy and slippy and a heavy smell. In the meantime V/Vm continued his headrolls through the adjoint room, then making a miscalculation as he rolled through the wrong door, and off the stairs – He thumbled down a second time while he tried to get up again, dislocating his knee in the action, upon which he pushed it back to nicely finish up his set. Funny thing is that just moments after V/Vm rolled down the stairs Diskoster entered the kitchen, saw the open door and closed it saying “Who the fuck left this door open”, while V/Vm was laying at the end of the stairs. Word is that the next morning they had to get V/Vm on the plane back to the uk with the help of an elevator – “When I put pressure on my knee the bone pops out” – “Nah mate, not to worry, I’m fine” (to a worried Diskoster while the girls of Kunt are holding cold cans of beer against his knee). Afterparty with DJ Lamzak and DJ Nibor: acid, acid, acid, ACID! 28th edition, and the first time the neighbours complain bout the volume – A police-car was parked in front of the place for a short while, but there’s a good chance it was just parked there cause the cops were having a kebab in the nearby kebab-shop, so all ended well in the best of worlds.
Oh, and as for Keykeeper and Tempos: that band cancelled, word is that he missed his plane. Twice.

Update 11.10.2006: Read V/Vm’s version of the facts on these locations: monday 25th of september (with a night pic shot at the grand station in Tienen) and tuesday 26 th of september (with a pic of V/Vm’s knee).
